World Series of Poker Event 19: Brock Parker's 2nd Win in a WeekThu, Jun 11th, 2009 @ 12:00am At the World Series of Poker, the $2,500 6-Handed NLHE Event saw 1,068 players enter for their chance to win a share of the $2,456,400 prize pool, including $552,745 for first place. Not to mention, a WSOP bracelet and the bragging rights that come with it. Day 3 saw the return of the final 11 entrants in this event. Brian Friesen was the short-stack at his table, and didn't waste much time getting it all-in the middle. Unfortunately for him Big Slick turned out to not be big enough to beat the pocket 9's of Alex Wilson, and he was the first to go on day 3. Just 15 minutes later we lost Alex Ivarsson when his Kh Jh ran into the pocket A's of Joe Serock. Ivarsson would go out in 10th place, bringing us 1 closer to our final table.
It took almost 3 hours of play to lose the first player from the final table. Clayton Newman pushed all-in holding pocket 2's, and was called by Jesse Rios who held pocket T's. The board was no help to Newman and he was sent to the rail in 6th place. The next 2 would not take as long. Alex Wilson went out in 5th place when his Kh Qs would go down to the Ad Jh of who else, Joe Serock, and Jesse Rios was out shortly after that when he moved all-in with Ac Jd and ran into the Ah Qs of Brock Parker. Rios couldn't catch a J and he was out in 4th place. This was however Jesse's 4th cash this week at the W.S.O.P. A very short-stacked Russell Crane would risk his tournament life on Jc Th, but he ran into the brick wall of Joe Serock, who held As 9h. Once again, Serock would get what he needed and he would eliminate Russell in 3rd place leaving only himself and Brock Parker to battle it out for the bracelet. In the end it would be Brock Parker who came out victorious. After it looked like the 2 might play until the wee hours of the morning, Brock won a large pot, and took a big chip lead. In the very next hand, Joe Serock moved all-in with pocket T's and ran into the pocket Q's of Parker. Serock couldn't suck out and would be our runner-up, as Brock Parker would win $552,745 in prize money and his 2nd bracelet in a week.
