Warm-Up Your Sunday Tournament Action with the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up
With the eyes of the poker world firmly focused on the World Championship of Online Poker, the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up is on a temporary hiatus. The Sunday Warm-Up is one of the key online poker tournaments on the PokerStars weekly schedule and frequently attracts a field in excess of 3,000 players.
The first-ever Sunday Warm-Up was scheduled on November 6th, 2006. It began with a relatively modest field of 644 players. ‘jakz_101’ proved to be the best of them and became the first PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up champion. The biggest field the event has attracted so far was 6,241 players on February 15th, 2009. The prize pool that day was an enormous $1,250,000.
Sunday Warm-Up is a very popular online poker tournament with the professional members of Team PokerStars. In January of this year, the United Kingdom’s Liv Boeree claimed the crown and in July the German professional, Jan Heitman finished in fourth.
The buy-in for the Sunday Warm-Up is $215 and the first prize frequently tops $100,000. You can be part of this exciting online poker tournament by entering one of the daily satellite events where the buy-in isn’t as high. You can find the Sunday event through your PokerStars software lobby by clicking through the Tourney, and then Regular tabs. The satellites can be found on the Satellite tab rather than Regular.
If you are interested in how the final table plays out on any given Sunday, you can catch all the action on the Sunday Warm-Up blog.
If you would like to experience the thrill of playing in a major online poker tournament with big prize money, enter a PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up satellite, you could go all the way to a place on the Sunday Warm-Up roll of honor.
