Exactly 693 poker players were all smiles today inside the Rio Las Vegas, as the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event reached one of the most thrilling moments of the grueling marathon tournament.
The expansive tournament arena was jam packed with players, fans, cards, chips, televisions cameras, and plenty of dreams. About four hours into Day Four, which was played on Friday, the player count reached 694 players. That meant 693 were about to celebrate a victory of sorts, since they were all guaranteed to receive nearly a $20,000 payday.
