2000 TOC Info

Expansion of the Tournament

TOC 2001 is being expanded to a full week, July 23 to 29 2001, at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. $1,000 buy-in tournaments in Limit Texas Hold 'em, Seven-Card Stud, No Limit Texas Hold 'em and Omaha Eight-or-Better are being added from July 23 through 26. The main event will begin July 27, 2001.

Qualification Standards

1. Win a major tournament or a designated qualifying event between July 24, 200, and July 26, 2001; or

2. Win any title in a World Series of Poker or Tournament of Champions tournament at any time or make the final table at the 2001 WSOP championship event; or

3. Place in the money at the TOC 2000.

Designated qualifying events will include super satellites for all championship events at major tournaments with buy-ins of $5,000 or more. TOC must approve all other designated qualifying events. They must be at least four tables and be advertised as TOC qualifying events by the host cardroom. Major tournaments and approved designated qualifying events will periodically be listed on our website. The right to grant a qualification exemption will be permitted to significant corporate sponsors.

Qualifiers may not sell, assign or transfer the right to play in TOC 2001.

Reduced Entry Fee

The total buy-in for TOC 2001 will be $2,000. The entry fee is being reduced to 7.5% ($150 per entry). Players who prepay the buy-in before June 30, 2001 will receive a $50 discount. A toke pool for dealers and floor staff of 2.5% ($50 per entry) will also be withheld.

We believe TOC 2001 will secure significant corporate sponsorship, a substantial portion of which will be added to the prize pool. Our goal is to have a tremendous event and provide a meaningful overlay for the players.

Mike Sexton and Linda Johnson will serve as our host and hostess. The event will continue the traditions and pageantry that make the TOC special. Seating is limited to 111 tables.
