Professional Poker Tour -Overview

PPT Logo Professional Poker Tour (PPT) WPT Enterprises, Inc. (WPTE), is pleased to announce the formation of the Professional Poker Tour (PPT). Like the World Poker Tour (WPT), the PPT will feature high stakes No Limit Texas Hold'em tournaments at prestigious casinos across the country. However, only players who qualify will be permitted to play on the PPT. Here's an overview:

PRIZE MONEY
Each of the five tournaments that are part of Season One of the PPT will award a $500,000 prize pool. The PPT tournament is a freeroll for PPT players and only PPT players are invited to play.

PARTICIPATION
Only players who have met the qualifications recommended by the Player-nominated PPT Advisory Committee and who have been invited to play on the PPT are eligible to play in PPT tournaments. Each PPT tournament is a FREEROLL so PPT players are not required to pay an entry fee.

TOURNAMENT PLAY
There are NO restrictions on players' ability to play in other tournaments or leagues.

SPONSORSHIP & LOGOS
We look forward to working together with the poker player community to bring meaningful sponsorship to the sport - for players and the league alike. Based on pre-approval, players may wear one pre-approved sponsorship logo that complies with the rules of the PPT.

PPT Season 1 Sponsorship Rules:

  1. Players at the Feature and Final Tables will be allowed to wear one sponsorship logo on their left chest pocket position (e.g., where the Polo pony logo would go).

  2. The sponsorship logo will be restricted in size to no larger than 6 square inches.

  3. Players must register and list their sponsor on the Participant Player Release form prior to the commencement of the PPT event.

  4. PPT reserves the right to refuse any and all sponsorship logos at its sole discretion, including but not limited to competing television shows and networks, logos associated with pornography, tobacco or firearms - and any logos that are restricted by the host casino and/or gaming regulators or that conflict with PPT title sponsors.

  5. Players are aware that broadcasters in various jurisdictions may require that logos be blurred out of shows and that neither the PPT nor any of its associated entities or officers guarantees any television airtime for such logos.

BASIC RULES
Based on advice from the Advisory Committee, the PPT will adopt the Tournament Directors Association (TDA) rules.

ADDITIONAL RULES
In addition to the TDA rules, we are asking participating casinos to do the following:

  1. Play 9-handed rather than 10-handed.

  2. Post (and adhere to) table breaking order

  3. Redraw at the end of Day One

  4. Redraw at 27, 18, and 9 players (no need to combine to one table at 10 players since only paying 6 places)

  5. Institute a 90-second action clock at the Final Table.
