Professional Poker Tour -Selection Process

PPT Logo Professional Poker Tour (PPT) kicked off at Foxwoods Resort Casino on Nov. 9, the field will includes poker's All-Stars - champions from WORLD POKER TOUR™ (WPT), World Series of Poker, and European Poker competitions. More than 200 players qualified when the PPT announced its list of eligible players based on input from the PPT Advisory Committee.


"This qualifying process ensures that the television audience will have a chance to consistently see the most exciting, skilled poker played by the sport's All-Stars," said Steve Lipscomb, President of WPT Enterprises. "The PPT will be a league of poker Titans."

Qualified Players
All Winners of World Series of Poker $10K event
First, Second, or Third place in 2003 or 2004 World Series of Poker $10K event
Top Ten Players on CardPlayer Player of the Year list (2002, 2003)
Top Ten Players on Phil Helmuth Champion of the Year List (2002, 2003)
Member WPT Poker Walk of Fame

Member Poker Hall of Fame Two-Year Cards To:
Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth place in the $25K WPT Championship event
Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth place in the $10K World Series of Poker event – 2003-2004
One-Year, Two-Year, or Three-Year Cards To
Players selected by the PPT Advisory Committee
Top Ten Players on Poker Europa list (2004)
World Poker Tour Commentators Sponsor Exemptions in each Event
Eight (8) for the hosting Casino (Based on PPT direction)
Ten (10) for WPTE QUALIFICATION TO PLAY IN FUTURE PPT SEASONS: Automatic Qualification: 1
Three-Year Cards To:
All WPT Champions (i.e. winners of any WPT Regular Season Event)
Anyone who makes more than one Final Table in a particular season of the WPT
First, Second, or Third place in the $25K WPT Championship event
Top Ten (10) Players on WPT Player of the Year list
First, Second, or Third place in World Series of Poker $10K event
Top Ten (10) Players on CardPlayer Player of the Year list
Inductees into WPT Poker Walk of Fame
Inductees into Poker Hall of Fame
Two-Year Cards To:
Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth place in the $25K WPT Championship event
Fourth, Fifth, or Sixth place in the $10K World Series of Poker event 3.
One-Year Cards To:
Top Ten (10) Players on European Poker list Other Ways to Qualify:
Win a PPT event; Three-Year Card
Make it to a PPT Final Table; One-Year Card
Make two or more PPT Final Tables; Three-Year Card

Casinos will continue to have eight (8) sponsor exemptions per event
WPTE will continue to have (10) exemptions per event
Number of WPT events players play in will be considered as a factor when determining close calls and tiebreakers. The Rest of the Field: will be determined by money earned on the World Poker Tour during the previous season. First Season Card Members will total approximately 200 (unless automatic qualifiers increase the pool).
