NewJane Interviews ShaunP, one of the final four from the BIG ONE final table.NewJane: Congratulations on your excellent finish at the Live Tour event! Tell us about the event that qualified you for the Live Tour finale next year. ShaunP:It was the Spring Final... I had just qualified the week before. Made the final table an then Qualified for the live tour. NewJane: Tell us some interesting facts about your life, such as place of employment, family matters, hobbies, or educational background. ShaunP:We here at the Pocius house have just had our first child. (Kaitlyn) And come Dec.5 our next should arrive. I have worked for my current company for 5 years as a pipe fitter. NewJane: Give us a little glimpse into your poker background. How long have you played? Do you prefer online play or live? ShaunP:I have played for 2 1/2 years, but so far all of my play has been online, with the exception of home games. Tournaments are my favorite, and NLHE my game of choice. NewJane: How long have you been a member of PSO? ShaunP:Going on 2 and a half years. And have enjoyed every minute. NewJane: What do you think was your greatest strength in the tourney? Your biggest weakness? ShaunP:My greatest strength was that I had just qualified and really felt that I had no chance to win or even make the final table. So my play was kinda lose. So I was able to hang for quite awhile. My weakness was a couple of bad moves that cost me alot of chips. And not able to do anything in the end. NewJane: Do you remember any key hands you want to tell us about? Positive or Negative outcomes… ShaunP:The biggest hand I remember was, Maybe 30 mins. into the game. I was dealt pocket A's an two others at the table were dealt pocket K's after all was said an done I was up 20,000 an on my way. NewJane: If you could have dinner with any current poker tourney pro, who would it be and what would be the question you would ask first? ShaunP:Doyle Brunson, I think there would be alot of questions. Just because Knowledge is POWER. NewJane: What poker books have helped your game? ShaunP:I have looked over a couple of them an even went back to a couple. Like Super Systems, Hellmuth's Texas Hold'em and David Sklansky and Mason Malmuth's Hold'em Poker. NewJane: What new poker games are you interested in learning? ShaunP: Omaha Hi Lo NewJane: Here is your chance to address anything I neglected to ask that you are dying to share. ShaunP:Nothing at this time... NewJane: Thanks for taking time to answer my questions, and best of luck at the Live Tour Finale in 2007.
