PokerPages.com Affiliates With The TOC

Palm Desert, CA & Austin, TX- March 30, 2001- Tournament of Champions, Inc. is proud to announce that PokerPages.com will take over the administration of the TOC event and its online website. PokerPages.com will also hold the first-ever online qualifying tournaments for the TOC, implement new online qualifying procedures for players and participating card rooms, and assist in promoting and marketing the TOC events.

Pokerpages.com will begin these first-ever online qualifying tournaments for the TOC in mid-April, 2001. Interested players can enroll for these tournaments on www.pokerpages.com (after the conclusion of the WSOP warm-up currently running). Two seats to the TOC main event will be awarded at these qualifying tournaments.

The Tournament of Champions will be bigger and better this year. It will be held for the full week of July 23-29th at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There will be four preliminary events, one in each of the four poker disciplines played during the TOC, followed by the TOC championship event on July 27, 28 and 29, 2001. Super satellites for the TOC main event will be held during the Orleans Open.

Pokerpages.com will announce early in April how players can make online queries to find out their TOC registration status and take advantage of the $50 discount offered for entries paid by June 30, 2001.

ABOUT the TOC
The Tournament of Champions of Poker is the "Most Prestigious and Unique Event in Poker". It's prestige stems from requiring players to be proven champions and its uniqueness from the multi-game format: participants must play Limit Hold'em, Seven-Card Stud, Omaha Eight-or-Better, and No-Limit Hold'em en route to the title.
