WORLD POKER TOUR RETURNS TO ATLANTIC CITY FOR THE FIRST EVER BORGATA WINTER POKER OPEN

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (October 24, 2005)
Building on the recent success of the 2005 Borgata Poker Open - the biggest poker tournament in Atlantic City's history - Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced today that it will kick off the New Year with the 2006 Borgata Winter Poker Open. This 11-day tournament will begin January 20, 2006 and will conclude with the Borgata Poker Classic, part of the WORLD POKER TOUR® (WPT), on January 29-February 1, 2006.

The Borgata Winter Poker Open will mark the WORLD POKER TOUR's fourth visit to Borgata. The most recent Borgata Poker Open in September 2005 drew a record 515 players with a $4,995,634 prize pool. Daniel Negreanu (2004 WPT Player of the Year and winner of the 2004 Borgata Poker Open), Phil "the Unabomber" Laak, Jennifer Tilly, David Williams, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Ivey, David "the Dragon" Pham and Maciek "Michael" Gracz were among those competing for the WPT title. But in the end, it was Jersey City's Al Ardebili who captured the title and first-place prize of $1,498,650 at the final table on September 22, 2005.

"As the poker phenomenon continues to gain momentum and Borgata becomes increasingly known as Atlantic City's poker hub, we are thrilled to be hosting yet another high-stakes tournament in conjunction with the WORLD POKER TOUR," stated Stan Strickland, Borgata's director of poker operations. "The Borgata Poker Open in September far exceeded our expectations and 2006 is sure to be an even more successful year for Borgata's poker program, when we more than double the size of our existing poker room."

Televised nationally on the Travel Channel and one of the premier stops on WORLD POKER TOUR's 17-tournament tour, Borgata Poker Classic will feature the world's top poker players along with local fan favorites competing in No-Limit Texas Hold'em poker. The buy-in amount is $10,000 and the Final Table is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1, 2005 in Borgata's Event Center.
