WSOP 2007 Business Registration Rules
Federal and State laws in the United States and policy statements made by the
United States Department of Justice ("USDOJ") indicate that the USDOJ holds
to the view that internetbased gambling, including poker, may not be legally
offered to persons residing in the United States. Harrah´s Operating Company,
Inc. and each of its subsidiaries and affiliated entities (hereinafter, collectively,
"Harrah´s") will not accept funds from internet-based gambling sites (or their
affiliates) that accept wagering monies from persons residing in the United
States or any other jurisdictions where such activity is illegal.
To implement this policy, Harrah´s has established the following controls:
1) With limited exception, Harrah´s will not accept third party
registration to enter into the World Series of Poker Main Event or its Circuit
Events. The exceptions are:
a) Entities that have executed written license agreements with Harrah´s
to operate an in-person WSOP Satellite Poker Tournament; and
b) WSOP Sponsors, Product Licensees that have executed written license Agreements
with the Company and entities that have executed Prize Agreements with the
Company.
2) Harrah´s will not license its trademarks or logos to any entity
(or affiliates thereof) that accepts internet wagers from U.S. residents or
any other jurisdictions where such activity is illegal. No entity may use the
trademarks and logos of Harrah´s including, without limitation, those related
to the World Series of Poker without first having entered into a written license
agreement with Harrah´s License Company, LLC.
3) No entity (or affiliates thereof) offering internet gambling to
U.S. residents, or any other jurisdictions where such activity is illegal, will
be allowed to display its trademarks or logos at the Rio ® All-Suite Hotel
& Casino during the WSOP Tournament.
4) Harrah´s will not permit any participant in any WSOP tournament
to display the trademark or logos of any entity that violates Policy number
(2) above.
5) Harrah´s will not rent blocks of hotel rooms, hospitality suites
or convention space to any entity (or affiliates thereof, or representatives
of any such entities) that accepts internet wagers from U.S. residents or any
other jurisdictions where such activity is illegal.
6) Harrah´s may require any person or entity to complete Harrah´s Business
Information Form and be subject to a background investigation conducted by Harrah´s,
as a condition precedent to that individual or entity´s purchase of goods or
services. The decision whether to require such (and whether, ultimately, Harrah´s
shall conduct business with said person or entity) shall be one for Harrah´s,
acting in its sole and absolute discretion. Harrah´s acceptance of a completed
Business Information Form shall not constitute its acknowledgment or agreement
by it to provide goods or services to any individual or entity.
