World Championship Event No Limit Hold'em Final Day Fri, May 23 2003 Chris Moneymaker is the new World Series of Poker Champion. Chris wins $2,500,000 after beating Sammy Farha into second place and $1,300,000. In the last hand Chris made a full house of Fives over Fours after all the chips went in on the flop where Chris had 5's and 4's and Sammy a pair of Jacks.

World Championship Event No Limit Hold'em Day 2 Tue, May 20 2003 at 12:00 PM Amir Vahedi from Sherman Oaks, CA leads the remaining 111 players in the 34th WSOP at Binions Horseshoe Las Vegas with $303,400 at the end of day 2. In second place is Brian Watkins with $247,900 and 3rd Scotty Nguyen with $214,300.

Event #35 World Championship Event No Limit Hold'em Day 1 Mon, May 19 2003 at 12:00 PM Barry Greenstein from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA leads the remaining 388 players (839 started)in the 34th WSOP. Barry has $94,775 in chips with Rob Hollink from Holland in 2nd place with $71,900. Full chip counts available in results section.

Event #35 Ace to Five Triple Draw Lowball Sun, May 18 2003 at 12:00 PM Men "The Master" Nguyen won event #35 (Ace to 5 Triple draw Lowball) at the WSOP last night. Men won his second WSOP bracelet this year and $43,520.

Event #34 Limit Hold'em (2 Day Event) Sat, May 17 2003 at 12:00 PM Carlos Mortenson, the 2001 World Champion won event #34 ($5,000 buyin Limit HoldEm)at the WSOP last night. Carlos won a coveted WSOP gold bracelet and took home $251,680. Event #35 ($1,500 buyin triple draw lowball) was won by Men "The Master" Nguyen for another WSOP gold bracelet and $43,520.

Event #33 Pot Limit Omaha (2 Day Event) Fri, May 16 2003 at 12:00 PM John Juanda won event #33 ($2,500 buyin Pot Limit Omaha, with rebuys) at the WSOP last night. John won $203,840 and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet. There were 120 players and 104 rebuys.

Event #32 No Limit Hold'em (2 Day Event) Thu, May 15 2003 at 12:00 PM Phil Hellmuth JR won event #32 ($3,000 buyin No Limit HoldEm) at the WSOP last night. Phil beat 397 of the worlds best No Limit Holdem players to take home $410,860 but far more importantly his record equaling 9th WSOP gold bracelet.

Event #31 7-Card Stud (2 Day Event) Wed, May 14 2003 at 12:00 PM Men "The Master" Nguyen won event #31 ($5,000 buyin 7 Card Stud) at the WSOP last night. Men won a coveted WSOP gold bracelet and $178,560. Men showed 95 other world class Stud players at Binions Horseshoe in Downtown Las Vegas, why he is considered by many to be the best Stud player in the world today.

Event #30 Pot Limit Hold'em (2 Day Event) Tue, May 13 2003 at 12:00 PM Charles Keith Lehr from Bossier, La won event #30 at the WSOP last night ($3,000 buyin Pot Limit HoldEm). He takes home $225,040 and a coveted WSOP gold bracelet. Chris "Jesus" Ferguson finished runner up for the second year running.

Event #25 Limit Hold'em Shootout (2 Day Event) Fri, May 9 2003 at 12:00 PM Layne "Heart Attack" Flack won event #25 last night at the WSOP, the $1,500 buyin Limit Holdem Shootout. The talented youngster from Las Vegas took home $120,000 and his fifth lifetime WSOP gold bracelet.

Daniel took home $100,440 and his second WSOP gold bracelet after winning the $2,000 buyin S.H.O.E event. Event #18 Omaha Hi/Lo (2 Day Event) Fri, May 2 2003 at 12:00 PM Layne Flack won event #18, $2,500 buyin Omaha Hi/Lo at the WSOP in sensational style. He had it all wrapped up by 6.00pm and took home $119,260 and a coveted WSOP bracelet. Quote from Howard Lederer follows: "After each event, the Horseshoe photographer takes each winner outside of Binion's to snap a victory picture. With Matt's great structures, the events have been ending around 9:00 P.M. on average. As Layne was headed out of the tournament room, I heard him tell the photographer to hurry up. He wanted his picture to be taken in daylight! LOL, that Layne is quite a character."
