On Sunday the 4th of November, something rare and unique happened, a Poker
Game not only in The Sun, not only surrounded by stunning Catgirls, nor just
on board 2 Sunseeker Boats in Sunny Soto Grande, Marbella Spain, with a
£20,000 prize, Televised for Channel 4 television, no Smoking, no alcohol,
no Shoes, six of Europe's Hottest players, proceeds of the Buy-ins to
Charity,
UNIQUE cos apart from all this it was pure FUN and was a launch to many
Poker Charity Games to come.
Catman" of Sophsticats London forefilled a dream fantasy combining his
favourite hobby Poker with his love Sophisticats and doing a little for a
worthy cause .The game was surreal in nature, played in a setting so far
from the Smokey rooms you would normally expect, adorned by an artistic set
laid on by Ginger and Persia the Artistic Directors of Sophisticats. The
event was not initially devised for Charity but after a phone call from
Saachi and Saachi about providing Vegas Style Showgirls for a charity bash
at The Savoy it was soon realised that playing a game for charity, still
offering a great prize and bringing the profile of Poker Players and
Stripclub owners out of there Smokey rooms could be nice.
Originally this fun game was only to feature one pro, Barney Boatmen the
highest ranked European (16th) in The World Series, who Catman had met and
admired on The Cash tables of Ladbrokes Stakis Club, one of the few players
the Cat had met with a sense of humour on the tables even if losing a couple
of quid.With the gift of the great Yamaha R1 racing spec Bike, there was a
sudden influx of available players, but being the first of such an event the
numbers were kept down and only some of the best British Players were
invited including;
Ross and Barney Boatman, Ram Vaswani, Devil Fish, Simon Trumper, Joe Beevers
with up and coming pro's Bodo and Alan Lee.
The game was a sixteen handed, the final ending up with all the above pros
and Rams girlfriend Claire on the final table, the competition lasted around
9 hours with Heads up between Joe Beevers and Ross Boatmen the Hendon Mob,
Victory to Mr Beevers, but final Victory to Breakthrough Breast Cancer and
huge applause to all who attended this first of many fun games (Well Catman
didn't think it so funny when Beeverman knock him out with tip 10's and ace
kicker to Cats Queen Kicker-Meooww.
The standard of every aspect of the event was 5 star, Marble floor
appartments overlooking The Stunning Harbour of Puerto Banus, The Penthouse
Tournament Conference to The Stunning Scenery provided by The Catgirls, The
Excellent Bars and Restaurants, and above all one of the most stylish of
Poker Games ever held. Salvador Dali eat your heart out.
Catman is now working on his next project which will hopefully be a huge
event on an island somewhere hot and sunny with lots of fun And hopefully
lots of money for a good cause.
