notes - hand ranks

Royal Flush Royal Flush
The five highest cards, the 10 through the Ace, all five of the same suit. A royal flush is actually an ace-high straight flush. The suit doesn't matter in poker. Two people with royal flushes would tie.
Straight Flush Straight Flush
Any five cards of the same suit in consecutive numerical order. Our example shows a five-high straight flush.

Four of a Kind Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same denomination. Our example shows four jacks with a deuce kicker.

Full House Full House

notes - Chips

Poker Chips

Whether you use pennies, dollars or buttons to bet with at home, the real thing cannot be beat. Real poker chips have a certain "feel." Today, most poker chips are made of a durable composite or plastic. Plastic chips tend to be more slippery than the composites and therefore are harder to handle.

Chips come in a variety of colors and patterns. You may note that the designs and 'edge spots' on card room chips vary. This is for security reasons. However, the poker industry generally uses these traditional values and colors:

* $1 White
* $5 Red

Patiences so important

Well I took most of the afternoon off and in hindsight, ive been playing bad poker in frustration at getting no hands. Its just part of poker that you are going to have days on d bounce where you get no cards what so ever, the secrete is not losing too much money on those days. A day when you get no cards and end down $10 is much better than a day when u get no cards and u end down $40.

Whats the point?

Well im down $55 in two days because I just have not hit a single hand! Its hard to figure out what the point is in all this hard work when u see hand after hand go against you for days on end! I havent had a run of big wins in weeks, its so much hard work considering, its just crazy!!

Missed information cost me big! (Big Blind)
