NewJane: Congratulations on your excellent finish at the Live Tour event! Tell us about the event that qualified you for the Live Tour Final tourney next year.

HereIGoAgain:.It was a $500 buy in NL Hold Em live event held at Harveys in Lake Tahoe.

NewJane: Tell us some interesting facts about your life, such as place of employment, family matters, hobbies, or educational background.

HereIGoAgain:I'm just a poor old boy raised by a single mom. I am a self starter/learner. Everything that I wanted to learn in life I have taught myself. I don't have much of an educational background, dropped out of high school sophomore year when my mother passed away so I could work and support myself. I guess you could call me street smart. I started my own retail cell phone business with $100 back in 1996 and made a lot of money with it till I got burnt out about 2 years ago and decided to wind it down and pursue a career doing something I love..Poker. I don't have a lot of hobbies to speak of although a few years ago I got my pilots license and bought myself a small 4 seat airplane. It was a childhood fantasy that I was able to make come true because of the success I had with my business.

NewJane: Give us a little glimpse into your poker background. How long have you played? Do you prefer online play or live? Where is your favorite place to play live? Do you like tournaments or ring games? What is your game of choice?

HereIGoAgain: I absolutely despise online play, it's literally a license for any imbecile to pretend he's a pro. I have experienced the worse bad beats online and I try to avoid playing online if at all possible. As far as live games I have typically spent most of my time locally at TRUMP(although I have been banned from there for a little outburst I had a couple months ago) and Harrahs which are both located in NW Indiana. I find it best to play live games with less experienced players and typically trap with my big hands and get away from my medium strength hands cheaply. I pride myself on being a good observer. I try to identify my opponent's strengths and weakness and exploit them. I don't have anything perfected yet but I definitely am on to something. I made an incredible call a couple months ago with just top pair(JJ). After the hand my opponent said to me "You know Sam you're not the best poker player but you sure as hell can read people!"

NewJane: How long have you been a member of PSO?

HereIGoAgain: Joined up about a year or so ago.

NewJane: What do you think was your greatest strength in the tourney? Your biggest weakness?

HereIGoAgain: I believe my tight play was what got me so far. I got away from medium strength hands when I felt I was beat and trapped my big hands well. Although my patience wore out in the ladder rounds when I got so close. Moving all in with K10 was an impatient move that cost me a final table. The entire tournament I waited patiently for good hands and good position and played them well. Another thing I noticed was I didn't get outdrawn much. My good hands held up and that was another key to getting as far as I did.

NewJane: Do you remember any key hands you want to tell us about? Positive or Negative outcomes.

HereIGoAgain: Needless to say the hand that cost me the tournament which was just pure impatience. I moved all in with K10s in first position. I had about $27k in chips and the blinds were 3k & 6k I believe. I was about to be consumed but the most important thing is survival; if I had it to redo I would blind myself out of the tournament before giving my chips away to someone with pocket aces. I did go on tilt early in the second day when I was outdrawn by someone in early position who called my raise(I had KK) with A10 and hit of course. Shortly after I went on a rush of cards that put me good chip position going into day 3. Basically I was going all in every other hand but I had good hands like JJ KK and the hand I was eventually called on was A10(ironic isn't it?). I was called by AQ but I spiked a 10 on the flop and it held up so I doubled up that hand. The funny thing is my opponent who called my all in with AQ earlier in the week called me with second pair and got super lucky to outdraw me on the turn. What goes around comes around that's for sure. Either way thanks to the tilt hand(KK vs A10) I went on to place 11th in a field of poker legends.

NewJane: What are some of the differences you notice in online play as opposed to live play?

HereIGoAgain: I already touched on this a bit. I think the main thing is that online you cannot "read" a persons demeanor. Your opponent could represent a hand and literally have nothing or in my experience call on draws that seem to hit more often than in live play.

NewJane: If you could have dinner with any current poker tourney pro, who would it be and what would be the question you would ask first?

HereIGoAgain: Oh wow there's so many but I would definitely have to go with the legend Mr. Doyle Brunson. Super System was the first book I ever read about poker and I carry a lot of fundamentals in my present day game. I had the honor of playing with him at the main event in Lake Tahoe. I saw this man make calls that were unbelievable. I remember one hand specifically where Doyle raised in late position with AJs and the BB called. The flop came K/10/5 rainbow and the BB lead out with an all in bet about twice as big as the pot. Doyle sat and toiled for a while the said out loud "Hmmm QJ huh ok I call" sure enough the BB flips over QJ and did not catch up so Doyle won the hand with Ace high. Everyone at the table was stunned and in awe.

NewJane: What poker books have helped your game?

HereIGoAgain: I've read a lot of books on poker, the one that seemed to help me a lot was a most recent read....Harrington on hold em. A must read for anyone wanting to play tournaments and be successful.

NewJane: What new poker games are you interested in learning?

HereIGoAgain: Right now I want to focus on becoming a master at Hold Em before I try learning other games. I would rather be a master of one thing than a "Jack of all trades & a master none.

NewJane: Here is your chance to address anything I neglected to ask that you are dying to share.

HereIGoAgain: I would like to thank poker pages, poker school online, yourself & Sharla especially for writing all the terrific things about me during the main event. I was inspired by all those great blogs Sharla wrote and even got a little emotional over some of them. I have always been a recognition junky for as long as I could remember...hehe. I just wanted to say thanks again.

NewJane: Thanks for taking time to take part in this interview. Best of luck at the GRAND FINAL!!
