ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (September 21, 2005) - Day two of the World Poker Tour (WPT) main event at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa saw some players take flight into the chip stratosphere, while others faired far worse, crashing and burning out of the tournament.

The Borgata Poker Open's biggest event once again left spectators satisfied as the field, thinned out from yesterday's play, forced even more top pros into tight spots. Unfortunately, several of the game's biggest poker names fell victim to challengers who showed no fear of the better-known players or their cards.

Surviving players of the first day were thrilled as they learned that the top eight finishers would collect at least $150,000. Finishing ninth isn't exactly bad either when you collect almost $100,000.

Nevertheless, you can be sure that all players will be gunning for first place and won't be satisfied with anything less than the WPT title. This year's first-place finisher will leap into the millionaires' club when the victory gives him or her, the biggest cash prize in Borgata historyalmost $1.5 million.

Mike the Mouth' Matasow, Erik Lindgren, David the Dragon' Pham, and Barry Greenstein are just a few of the stars left in the field. Day two action moved at light speed as the chip counts shifted between players throughout the day. The remaining players, hailing from all around the world, continued to match wits and tactics hoping to win this battle of poker endurance. Clonie Gowen, Evelyn Ng, and Kathy Liebert continued, taking chip after chip from their opponents.

Unfortunately, World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour winner Jennifer Tilly fell victim to a bad beat when she lost with a queen-high flush. Despite losing, she had only positive things to say about her Borgata experience. What's great about Borgata is its really easy to get around. Plus the beds are super, super comfortable. My boyfriend (Phil Unabomber' Laak) said before I came here that these were the most comfortable beds in the whole country, including my own bed at home. So I was really looking forward to that. The people are friendly and the food is great.'

Tournament veteran Barry Greenstein also took notice that Borgata is more than just a place to play poker. For the most part the casinos are just green felt tables and I don't separate one from the other. I have to admit, when I walked into Borgata, you could see that there is attention to detail. They really did a great job making this an upscale place. I appreciated the care they took. Borgata sticks out.'

Day three will be another all-out battle as the players go after the $1.5 million and the WPT title. Expect every player to bring their A' game and be prepared for high drama as the players go for it all.
