Tournament Report
Who needs student loans when poker can finance a college education. This effervescesnt Orange County resident admits that he got into the card clubs at an early(under)age, but don't worry Stan, the statute of llimitations has expired. Stan has been playing poker for about 20 years and says modestly, that stud is the game he is least experienced at. Fooled us! This emotional pillar of strength was ecstatic with the incredible cards he was dealt, since he won every hand he played for about a 2 hour period.
Andrew and Sammy, your daddy has now won a gold watch for each of you, and he is determined to win one for Emily next. It is obvious that Stan has had a successful poker career, but it is apparent that the best hand he won was that of his beautiful wife Amy, of 13 years, who was dealer at the Bicycle Club when they first met. Not only a good family man, but a good coach. Stan's brother Ken won a satellite earlier this evening.
Our second place finisher is very versatile. He not only owns a junkyard, he has a business for "bird control" and yes he even changes diapers! Pete D'Mato, affectionately known as "Junkyard Pete" began playing poker at house games when he was about fifteen years old. He has played in the stud tournament at the World Series and plays regularly at "The Taj" Pete has plenty to be proud of... beautiful wife of 17 years and 3 beautiful children, this latest addition, a son, born 10/18/2000.
Our 3rd place finisher also has a family affair, Mitch Kramer took the day off from his business in order to play in this stud event, and a profitable day it was. Accompanying him is his wife Mina, who also plays $5-$10 stud and his son Richard, who has been an active participant in the satellite games. That family vacation is sure sounding good.
Kenny was 4th to finish the tournament today, just as yesterday, but the first to pull out his family photos. Another proud Dad with a beautiful 20 month old son. Kenny's plans to wean his son on stud, since that is his favorite game.
This was the forth of seventeen tournament events that will take place over a consecutive 19 day period. Super Satellites will be held on a daily basis to give players an opportunity for a seat in the Championship events of 7-Card Stud and No Limit Hold 'em.
We wish a pleasant experience and good luck to all participants! |
