Tournament Report

It was on this date in 1933 that pohibition was repealed, so Ron Durante, break out the bubbly and celebrate your very first tournament win.

Included in Ron's resume is a 10th place finish in the stufd event at the 1999 World Series. In all modesty, Ron attributes his success to many of the locals, and great players like John Henigan (Flakes) and Tommy Wang, whom he has learned a great deal from.

Private clubs were the stomping grounds for Ron, but now as a professional poker player, he loves playing at the "Taj". We raise our glasses to you, Ron, as winner of Seven Card Stud, event #9.

Until 4 years ago, Daniel Avena never played poker, and today he finished 2nd in the stud event, taking home $14,600. Dan read some books on the game, which helped him evolve into a patient, consistent stud player. Dan has even written his own book on poker, which is not yet published because he is waiting on a conclusion. Perhaps the USPC will provide you with your final chapter.

Happy to be playing with all his friends, Lou Raba (Teach) finished 3rd. Pleased with the tournament, Teach would like to have seen more entrants in today's event.

As evidenced by the outcome of today's event, Atlantic City is the STUD CAPITOL of the WORLD!

Due to a simultaneous knock-out, seat #1 was vacant at the final table. The remaining 7 players are all regulars at the "Taj". Let's here it for the boys, let's give the boys a hand..!

This was the ninth of seventeen tournament events that will take place over a consecutive 19 day period. Super satellites will be held on a daily basis to give players an opportunity for a seat in the championship events of Seven Card Stud and No-Limit Hold'em.

We wish a pleasant experience and Good Luck to all participants!
