$10,000 Event end of Day 2
Wednesday, 05th of October 2005 11:59 PM
We now close for the days play. It is time to find out who is still alive and what playing power they will return with tomorrow. The players will now bag their chips and sign for them. We will then try to get the list and count updated and sorted to be displayed later tonight. Ciao....and sleep well.
With Mark Seif raising pre-flop, Paul Magriel decides to call. The flop came an 8 6 4 rainbow. Mark made it his entire ball of wax to play, and Paul called once again. Mark had a pair of jacks and Paul a pair of mighty aces. The aces held up and doubled Paul Magriel up to about 50K.
John Juanda buffs up his stack when he bets about 5K and Tom Owens comes over the top to make it twice that. The board showed the 3h Js Kd. The turn came the Qs, John checked and Tom bet 7K. This time John came over the top of Tom in an all in move and Tom called him. John had the Ac Ts while Tom showed the Ad Kh. The 7h on the river kept John boss with his broadway straight. The hand made John Juanda about 45K and he now sits at 95K or so.
Cong Do continues to run over his table. He takes Hoyt Corkins to the cleaners. Gavin Smith is doing the same at his table as he took Captain Tom Franklin out of contention when his pocket jacks hammered big slick. The field is thinning.

42 minutes left in the day. About 75 players left.
My friend Sam Von Duhn has lost his attempt at the final table this tournament. John Hanson and Tom Sheets met their match and have been replaced on the feature table as well.
James "Jersey Jim" Gaeta just could'nt get it going today. He finally fell to "All'in" Cheatham when his pocket eights ruled over Jim's J 8. Jim Gaeta is finished for this day.
Ricardo Festejo loses with pocket aces to a King high flush. He is gone with those cracked aces.
In a huge bet, raise, re-raise, re-re raise hand, Kenny Tran and Eric Crain have a huge stare down. Eric wanted to call, and he put his hand over his chips to push and they were obviously shaking. He finally does call and shows a full house, and Kenny turns over his cards to show an even bigger full house. Kenny takes down a monster pot.

Antes are 200 with 600 / 1200 blinds
The reason there are some major delays is that ESPN changes out the feature tables. Now of course they don't do them at the same (DOH!) so, every other break we have to take the time to change out chips, players and A / V equipment on each player. I am here to tell you, the players are having fits!
For all you Tommy Wang fans, he says he "sittin' with the devil" with 66K in chips!
