| John Wells started the day with a decent sized stack and on hand 25 of the day he found Qc Qh in the hole and raised the pot to 12K. All other players folded with the exception of David Redlin who just happened to be holding As Ah in the small blind. David flat called the raise hoping to set a trap on the flop. When the flop came 3s 8h Kd, David completed his trap play by checking the flop which then allowed John to hang himself which he did by moving all in. The only consolation for John was that he had David covered but his stack took a huge hit when the turn and river brought the 6h and Ks and no help for his two ladies.
Now playing with the short stack John moved all in pre-flop with Ac Jh for his last remaining $21,700 only two hands later. All players folded to Jared who despite starting the day with the short stack had made some inroads and now had a decent stack. Along with the decent stack he found two nines (9d 9s) that allowed him to call John's all in bet. When the final board read Ts 4h 4d 3d Th John was our first elimination finishing in 6th place.
John Wells finishes in 6th place and collects $5,762.
One of the stars at today's final table was 'Miami' John Cernuto. Miami certainly makes any TV table more fun to watch and on hand 29 he was certainly thinking about ratings when after Jared raised to $10,500 with Kc Jc John moved all in over the top for an additional $68,000 holding As 5d. John may have sensed weakness in Jared and thought that his all in re-raise would move him off his hand, unfortunately for John David Redlin was in the big blind to Johns left holding two lovely ladies (Qd Qh) and decided to move all in also. Jared elected to fold and when the final board read 2c 7c 6s Jh 8c, 'Miami' John was headed back to Miami for some fun in the sun. One thing that is interesting to note is that if Jared had called pre flop, he would have made a flush that would have not only knocked out Miami John but severely crippled David.
Nevertheless John Cernuto finishes in 5th place and collects $6,722.
Jared Okun started the day as the short stack but had made a very nice little comeback. He now held a little more than $70K in chips and was looking to double up through tournament veteran O'Neil Longson when on hand 41 he found 9h 9s and raised to 16K. The action was folded around to O'Neil who moved all in over the top holding As Ts. Jared decided to call and when the flop landed Tc 4c 8d, it looked as though young Jared's run had come to an end. The turn brought the Ac and the river the Qd sealing Jared's fate.
Jared Okun finishes in 4th place and collects $7,682.
After over an hour of three handed play all three players finally got involved in pot. O'Neil on the short stack moved all in on the button with Kh Th, and after much deliberation the young gun David Redlin called with 3c 3s. Sitting in the shadows and the big blind was tournament pro Tony Ma with pocket rockets (As Ac). Tony re-raised over the top of both players for his remaining chips and because David had already commited so many chips with his call to O'Neil's bet, he called Tony's re-raise with the potential to bust two players and end the entire event.
When the flop came 6c 5s 2c, the kid picked up 4 more outs for his quest to become today's champion. The turn card was the 5d sealing O'Neil's fate but leaving the door still open for David. The river card brought the 2s sealing the monster pot for Tony Ma and leaving O'Neil heading for the rail.
O'Neil Longson finishes in 3rd place and takes home $10,563.
Going into heads up play Tony held a 2-1 chip lead. Both players discussed making a deal and after a few minutes of deliberation decided to play it out. On the very next hand Tony Ma picked up the Th Ts and moved all in from the small blind. David must have thought that Santa Claus had come early when he peeked down to see Kh Kd staring back at him. He called and when the final board read 4c Ac 3h Qc Js the chip lead had been reversed.
On hand 105 for the day David raised to 23K holding the Kh Qc and Tony moved all in over the top with the As 4d. David called and we were only a flop away from a new semi final contender. After the flop hit Jh 6d 7d things were looking good for Tony, but the turn card brought the Kd leaving Tony with only a flush or an ace to save his place in the semi's. Fortunately for David the river card was the Black Maria Qs and he was our latest player to advance to the semi finals.
Tony Ma finishes in 2nd place and collects $20,166.
David Redlin wins today's event and collects $33,611 and a seat in the Semi final free roll.
