Tulsa, OK- Jamie Brooks, Shift Manager at the Ft. McDowell Casino, in Phoenix AZ, won the 'Oklahoma State Championship of Poker' H.O.S.E. event Friday, February 9th at the Cherokee Casino. For his victory, Brooks collected $13,469 and the handsome champion's ring.
The H.O.S.E. event requires participants to play Hold'em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud, and Stud Hi/Lo, rotating games every 15 minutes. The $300+30 event attracted 148 players.
'I know the Cherokee Casino has one of the top poker programs and they conduct some of the best tournaments in the nation,' Brooks explained, 'That's why I took time off to attend the tournament and I haven't been disappointed.'
'As players learn more about Oklahoma poker and the Cherokee Casino in particular, a lot of them will be coming here, too,' Brooks added.
