$135,567 FOR THE FIRST PLACE WINNER! DAVID NISBY TRIUMPHS!

When the final table of the $600 No-Limit Championship of the 2007 Foxwoods Poker Classic began, David Nisby was the chip leader. And when the day was done, he had all the chips, a commemorative jacket, the Championship Trophy and , most importantly, $135,567 to take home to Abington, Massachusetts!
Of the 938 who started on Wednesday, 39 returned to action today to compete for the remainder of the $484,166 prize pool. Five hours of play produced the Final Table and Michael Vela of New Windsor, NY, was the first to leave the scene. Mike had earlier called Joseph Wise's $250K all-in and had lost with KQ to AQ. After a few hands, Mike was down to his last 40K and he was all-in with pocket 2's. However, Kevin Lim called with pocket K's and Mike was on his way home with $7,505 for 10th place.
Manny Kouhaiz of Merrimack, NH, was also unlucky with pocket 2's; he lost his all-in to Albert Muir's pocket A's. Manny had earlier called Albert's KQ all-in with pocket K's. A board of 69J10J gave Albert a straight to send Manny on a downward spiral. Manny would collect $9,683 for 9th position. Mike DeFalco was all-in for $72K with AQ in 4-way action pre-flop. After a 3c6c7c flop, Scott Beauregard bet $110K and David Nisby went all-in with Ac10c; there were no callers and Mike would return to Johnston, RI, with 8th place money of $12,104.
It would be another hour of play before 7th place was determined. Damon DeLuties of Peabody, MA, survived a couple of all-ins and had built his stack back to middle position. He went all-in for 440K with pocket 3's; David Nisby called with AK. David barely had Damon covered and, two A's on the board, left Damon with $14,525 for his efforts.
Kevin Lim, a resident of Avon, CT, had Jc10c and a flush draw after the flop. He could not catch a club and Joe Wise's K's would place Kevin in 6th position good for $16,946. Joe Wise ended up as the 5th place finisher after an up and down session. He survived all-ins more than once and had accumulated a large stack. He had 75 and went all-in for over $1M after a 627 flop. But Scott had pocket K's and Joe could not improve. He would return home to Boston, MA, with $21,787.
With 4 players remaining David Nisby had relinquished his position as chip leader to Scott Beauregard. He greatly improved his position when Albert Muir moved all-in with A3; David had pocket J's and Albert's $600K moved to David. Albert, a resident of Ansonia, CT, finished in 4th place and won $26,630.
Nicky Curanovic also contributed to David's stack. David was all-in for over $800K with A5; Nicky had KJ. The flop was 25K to give Nicky the edge but a 5 on the river gave the pot to David and left Nicky short-stacked. He was down to the felt with QJ and could not catch up to Scott's A8. Nicky would take 3rd place money of $38,733 home to the Bronx, NY.
David and Scott began heads up play with almost identical stacks. The first big swing occurred when David had A3 and Scott A6. A 3 on the flop left Scott with $825K and he was all-in shortly thereafter with pocket 3's. David had pocket 8's and Scott ended his run in 2nd place. The Northbridge, MA, resident collected $70,930. And David Nisby was the $600 No-Limit Champion for 2007!
