Tournament Report
DAVID O'DONNELL ROLLS TO VICTORY WITH $47,139 FOR FIRST!!
The 2007 Foxwoods Poker Classic $600 Limit Hold'em Championship went to David O'Donnell of
North Providence, RI. David started the day as the Final Table chip leader and was able to maintain his
advantage overcome the challenge of his competitors to claim the Championship trophy, commemorative jacket
and $47,139!
A total of 262 players began play on Thursday and the final table battle got underway a little after noon
on Friday with the limits at 4K/8K. Shortly into the fray, Rachel Anter of Lincoln, RI, went all-in with AK
suited. David Carleton had AQ suited and, when he turned a flush, Rachel was in 10th place with $2,733.
Deuces were not friendly to Jim Campbell, a resident of Marlborough, MA, who lost his stack in consecutive
hands to Lou Russo. Lou was all-in with A2 and Jim had KJ. Two deuces on the flop put Jim at the edge. The
next hand Jim was all-in with K7 but Lou had pocket deuces and with no help from the board, Jim found himself
with $3,074 for 9th place. With the blinds now at $6K/$12K, Larry Martone found himself down to his last 24K.
He went all-in with A9; Ronnie Kevin had pocket 5's. Larry had a flush draw but a 5 on the flop and another on
the turn eliminated any chance to win and Larry would take 8th place money of $3,416 home to Pelham, NH.
John Pastrana of Paterson, NJ, the short stack on the Final Table, improved his position to 7th place. His
pocket 9's were looking good until Lou Russo paired a Q on the river and John was the winner of $4,049. Stan
Harding, a resident of Quincy, MA, lost most of his stack to Dave Carleton when he could not pair his A9 losing
to pocket deuces. Stan collected $4,782 for his 6th place finish.
With 5 players remaining, Ronnie Kevin of Richland, NJ, and David O'Donnell were dead even in
chips. But Dave took two big pots and Ronnie found himself all-in with pocket 7's. Lenny Greer was in the hand
and all-in; Lenny scooped both pots with 9's and Ronnie was in 5th place with $6,149. Lou Russo was short-
stacked most of the day and finally took a stand with pocket 8's. Dave had A6 and with an A on the flop, Lou
would take 4th place good for $8,198. Lenny Greer of Rye, NY, survived several all-ins before finally
succumbing to Dave O'Donnell; he had 3's but Dave caught a straight on the river to leave Lenny in 3rd position.
Lenny took home $13,322.
David O'Donnell had 6 to 1 chip advantage entering heads-up action. With the blinds at 15K/30K, it did
not take long for David Carleton to move all-in. He had J10 and a straight draw but he could not hit and lost to
K's. Second place money of $23,911 would ease the pain of defeat.
And David O'Donnell was the $600 Limit Hold'em Champion of the 2007 Foxwoods Poker Classic!
