Tournament Report
THE TROPHY TO CHARLOTTE CHABOT!!
FIRST PLACE IS $38,676!
A record number of 462 players entered the 2007 Foxwoods Poker Classic "Ladies
Only" $300 No-Limit
Hold'em Championship. There were 16 players who returned on Monday to compete
for the remainder of the
$118,456 prize pool of which, Charlotte Chabot of Warwick, RI, claimed $38,676
as the First Place winner. Charlotte,
with her husband cheering her on, was awarded the Championship trophy and a
commemorative jacket as well as the
cash prize.
The final table began a little after 2 pm and within a short time 5 players
were gone. Lucia Akers was the first to depart. Charlotte Chabot went all-in
with AK and Lucia called with pocket J's. Lucia was ahead until A's
came on the turn and river and Lucia, a resident of Cheshire, CT, would take
home $1,836 for 10th place.
Mona Butter of Bayside, NY, took a chance with A4 suited and Jennifer George
called with AJ. With no help from the board, Mona was the 9th place finisher
and winner of $2,369.
Debbie Wolak was responsible for eliminating the next two players both in the
same hand. Lee Brooks was down to her last 10K and she was all-in with A10;
Deborah Kindt also had A10 and 100K more in chips than Lee. Debbie had them
both covered with AK; a K on the river sent Lee and Deborah to the sidelines.
Lee, a resident of Oxford, MA, took 8th place money of $2,962. Deborah Kindt
would return home to Lansdale, PA, with $3,553 for finishing 7th.
Mary Ann Levenduski of Wallington, CT, had 40K remaining and went all-in with
KQ against A7 for Jennifer. Mary Ann received no help from the board and she
was the winner of $4,146 for her 6th place finish.
Ingrid Meyer of Brooklyn, NY, and Cindi Gast were the short stacks with 5 players
remaining. Cindi won an all-in before Ingrid pushed all-in with AQ; Cindi had
QJ. When J's came on the turn and river, Ingrid was in 5th position and
she had $5,331 for her efforts.
Jennifer George was the chip leader at the start of the final table and maintained
her position for some time. Cindi had a slight chip advantage when she called
Jennifer's all-in. Jennifer had AK and Cindi, with K10, flopped a set of
10's to send Jennifer home to Quincy, MA, in 4th place with $7,107.
With three players remaining, Cindi was now the chip leader with Charlotte
in second and Debbie third. Debbie was able to double up twice in consecutive
hands against Cindi to vault her into the chip lead. Cindi Gast, who hails from
Provincetown on Cape Cod, with K6, raised Charlotte's 60K bet with an all-in
and was immediately called by Charlotte who had pocket A's. An uncooperative
board left Cindi with 3rd place money of $11253.
Charlotte was now the chip leader by over 3 to 1. Debbie Wolak had come back
several times from near elimination but her luck ran out against Charlotte.
She had A10 for her final all-in but Charlotte, with KQ, paired the K on the
flop and Debbie would return home to Laconia, NH, in 2nd place with $19,546!
Charlotte Chabot was the 2007 Champion and the winner of $38,676! Debbie Wolak
