Tournament Report

Danny Wong Takes One Down

The 2,595 no Limit Hold'em tournament was our fiercest field in The Legends of Poker so far. 132 players bought in to take home the Legends ring, the $10,000 seat to the main event and the $124,040 top prize. Several of the hottest young players were on hand to take a swing at the top prize including J.C. Tran, Joe Sebok, Rick Fuller, Justin Bonomo, and George Yutuc.

All of these players made it to day 2 where everyone was in the money. George Yutuc and Rick Fuller would be the only ones to make it to the final table. Several of these players made it to the final table, but only one could be crowned champion.

We pick up the action at the final table where, In late position, Kim Byung Yeon made an all-in bet and got the call from Thanh Luong, who was in the small blind. Yeon turned up A-K and Luong turned up the pocket Q's and we're off to the races. The first leg of the race brought out the J-4-4 and the queen's were still in the lead. The turn was the 5, leaving Yeon with only 6 outs. The river was a 6 and Kim Byung Yeon finished 10th earning $4,650.

George Yutuc was crippled in a hand right before the break when his 7's ran up against K's and he was left with 30k. when we returned, we saw him move all-in in the cut-off and get the immediate call fom Larry Gordon. gordon had the pocket rocket's and George asked the dealer nicely for diamonds when he turned over Kd 2d. The flop saw no diamond's, but it was a ray of hope with the 8-Q-K. the turn 8 helped nobody. The river was a 4 and that did it for George Yutuc who finished 9th earning $5,425.

On a flop of As 7s 8s and a 30k pot in the middle, Larry Gordon decided that his hand was good and moved all-in. Rick Fuller, who has been playing very solid poker all night, thought he smelled a rat and decided to call. The 10s 9s of Larry was ahead of Rick's 2 pair, A's and 8's. The turn was a heartbreaker for Larry when the 8s came giving Rick the full house, but giving Larry a re-draw to the straight flush. The river dropped a 4d and that did it for Larry Gordon who finished 8th earning $6,205.

just a few minutes after the miracle on turn street for Rick, we see a flop of 2-Q-7 between Rick and Barry Woods. Rick bet out and Barry moved all-in. Rick made the decision to call and the hands were turned up. Rick held 8-2 and Barry had top pair with the Q-10. the turn was another heartbreak...2! The river was the J and Rick Fuller dispatches Barry Woods in 7th earning $7,755.

6th place belonged to Dat Luong who sent his pocket 7's into battle againt the pocket 10's of Patrick Aziz. The board didn't improve anyone's hand and Dat Luong was out earning $10,855.

Thanh Luong just got taken out with an A-8 aginst the K-10 of Patrick Aziz. the flop was K-8-3, the turn was a 10 and the river was a 7. Thanh Luong is out in 5th earning $13,955.

Danny Wong (sb) and George Rahme (BB) were on the turn which was Q{moscardsuit:ss} J{moscardsuit:ss} 9{moscardsuit:cs} 8{moscardsuit:ss}. Danny fired out a smallish bet and George moved all-in for his last 60k. George turned over J-9 for 2 pair and Danny turned over the A-10 for the straight. the river was a 2 and George Rahme is out in 4th earning $18,610.

The first hand after the break we saw Rick Fuller raise the pot to 30k and Danny Wong move all-in which covered Rick. Rick called and Danny turned up A-10 to Rick's A-7. the flop was 2-3-5, the turn came a 10 and the river was the 6 and Rick Fuller was taken out in 3rd place earning $29,460.

just a few hands into the heads up we got the action. Danny Wong limed in and Patrick Aziz made a raise to 40k. Danny called and the flop was 5-5-K. danny checked, patrick moved all-in, and Danny insta-called with K-6 versus the pocket Q's of Aziz. The turn was an A and the river was the 3. Patrick Aziz finished 2nd earning $58,920 and Danny Wong is our Champion earning the $10,000 main event seat and $124,040.
