Tournament Report

Taxi Races off with a Victory!

76 players came together last night to take their chances at Omaha Hi/Lo. Each player bought in for $1,050 and hoped to take home the first prize of $30,650 and the Legends of Poker ring. Amir Vahedi was among the players and actually made it to the final table. Brandi Hawbaker also tried to take the title, but fell one short of making the final table. In the end, the final table was a grueling, yet exciting table.

Our first player to make his exit was Sirous Baghchehsaraie, who was all-in preflop against several other players. When all of the cards were dealt, Sirous couldn't quite beat the high hand of 'Taxi' Sandoval and he had no low draw and was out in 9th place earning $1,535..

Amir Vahedi had all kinds of outs to split the low side of the pot and was looking for a flush. However, his low never hit and the straight of David Rheem was the best high on the board. Amir mucked his hand and left the table in 8th place earning $1,915.

With the board reading 10s-4c-8s-Ks-2d, Mike Gutenplan put in his last 2,000 and saw that his 3-7 low and his 2 pair were no match for 'Taxi' Sandoval's ace high flush and A-3 low. Mike Gutenplan was out in 7th place earning $2,680.

Mike Krescanko only had enough money to cover the 3k blind and put himself all-in and got the call from David Rheem who had A-5-5-4 versus the 8-7-3-2 of Mike. The flop was A-Q-10, the turn was another Q and the river was a 2. David had two pair, A's and Q's and Mike only had the lower two pair of Q's and 2's. Mike Krescanko was sent home in 6th place earning $3,450.

Gary Do raised the pot with his last 6k and got the call from David Rheem who called with A-A-3-6 and Gary held Q-10-4-6. The board was J-7-2-4-K. Gary only had a pair of 4's while David had the pair of A's and the A-3 low and the win. Gary do was out in 5th place earning $4,215. Luis Santoni re-raise 'Taxi' Sandoval with his last 8k and Sandoval called with A-K-J-9 versus the A-5-6-7 of Santoni. The board read K-10-9-7-2 and Sandoval scooped the pot with the straight and Luis Santoni was out in 4th place earning $5,365.

David Rheem got hyper aggressive with the last 3 people and found himself with very little chips. He finally got his last 12k in with Larry Brill who held A-K-8-5 and David held A-K-8-5. The flop was 3-4-10, the turn was a Q and the river J gave Larry the straight and David Rheem was sent to the rail in 3rd earning $9,195.

The two remaining players decided on a deal and 'Taxi' Sandoval is our Champion!
