Tournament Report

Gary Do is the Champion!

The Eights or better, Omaha Hi/Lo tournament brought out 155 players who were out for the title of champion of E.O. Each player received 2,000 tournament chips and 45 minute levels which alternated between each game. Shannon Elizabeth tried to take down the prize but fell short of that dream. Barry Shulman went deep but managed to stay in long enough to cash. In the end the final table was a tough battle.

The bubble for this tournament was popped about 7 hours into the tournament and the remaining 16 players were all in the money.

Once we reached the final table, our first casualty didn’t come until 2 hours after the table was formed. Barbara Enright took out our first player in Omaha. The board read J-10-8-A-3. Barbara made the bet on the river that set Randy Holland all-in and Randy called with 10-10-9-6 giving him no low, but a set of 10’s. Barbara had the J-J-9-6 which was the better set and Randy Holland finished in 8th place earning $1,510.

The next player to go down was Paul Cha who put his last 4k in the pot with the flop reading Kd-3c-9c. Fred Dakduk called him down and turned up the Ac-Kc-8c-9d versus the A-2-8-8o of Cha. The turn was the 6s and the river was the 10c giving the flush to Fred and sending Paul Cha to the rail in 7th earning $2,255.

On the turn reading 4-7-Q-5 David Fried made a bet and got raised by Phillip Hershkowitz who was putting David all-in. David called and the hands were turned over to reveal the A-2-10-7 of David, while Phillip held A-3-Q-8. The river was the 2 and Phillip had the wheel for the scooper and David Fried was sent packing in 6th earning $3,000.

Gary Do made a raise on a flop of 9-J-4 and Michael Simhai re-raised to put himself all-in. Michael held A-K-J-9 versus the A-J-10-3 of Gary. The turn card was a 10 giving Gary the better 2 pair. The river 3 did no good For Michael Simhai who finished in 5th earning $3,760.

With the board reading Ac-Jh-5c-Ks-6c, Phillip Hershkowitz put in his last 8k and got called by Gary Do who turned over the 2s-8s-Kc-10c for the nut flush. Phillip tossed his cards in but before he did, he made sure to show his J-J-10-3 for the flopped set. Phillip Hershkowitz finished in 4th earning $4,510.

The remaining three players made a deal and our champion is Gary Do!
