Doug Dykes Decks Pot-Limit Omaha at Cherokee Casino
TULSA, OK- Douglas Dykes collected $20,505 for his 1st Place victory in the Pot-Limit Omaha event during the 'Scotty Nguyen Challenge' at the Cherokee Casino, in Tulsa. 'What a win!' declared the exuberant player, 'this is exciting!'
The $300+30 buy-in with re-buys attracted 62 players. There was $51,265 in total prize money.
The 'Scotty Nguyen Challenge', May 17-30, has exceeded expectations. 'We're pleased with players' response,' said Director of Poker and Table Games, Rick O'Connell, 'We've got players from throughout the heartland and both coasts.'
O'Connell reports that the Cherokee Casino poker program has shown a 'steady and substantial' increase in tournament participation percentages every year for the last three years. 'That's why the organization decided to embark on a $100 million expansion, including a new hotel tower,' the executive explained
