"Kido" Pham -- 2007"Scotty Nguyen Challenge" Champion

TULSA, OK – The"Scotty Nguyen Challenge" Championship Main Event at the Cherokee Casino, a $5,000+150 buy-in No-Limit Hold"em contest, attracted 91 players and $441,095 in prize money.
Many of the foremost players in the country have come for the Championship Main Event, including Men"The Master" Nguyen, Todd Brunson, Mike Matusow, Tony Cousineaugh,"Kido" Pham, Chuck Thompson, and Clonie Gowan among others.
The first day of the Championship was played down to three tables of players. Those 27 players returned the following day for the Second Round. They played until just six players remained. The six Final Table players resumed the contest 2pm Tuesday, May 29th, under the television lights with $441,095 in prize money at stake.
When the last six players took their seats for the conclusion of the Championship event,"Kido" Pham was the leader with about half of the total chips on the table. Closest to him was Nam Le, last year"s champion. He hoped to repeat.
Eventually, Kido Pham"s dominate chip advantage and his poker acumen prevailed. Kido won the event, collecting a handsome gold bracelet and $176,359. Pham praised the Cherokee Casino for an outstanding tournament.
"The events were well organized, game structures were perfect, and all the players have especially well treated," Pham told the audience and press. He predicted,"Next time, this tournament will be even bigger than this record-setting year.
