Tournament Report
| 578 players came to The Bike Friday to play the $335 rebuy tournament. The event had two start times and was a two day event in which we saw 949 rebuys and add-on's. Kenna James was out early when he maxed out his wallet with rebuy's. Men Nguyen and Amir Vahedi both tried to make through the first day, but both came up short. Even though those players didn't fair so well, we did see two of our Mini Series Champions make the final table.
The bubble got busted 2 hours into the second day and this meant the final 54 players would be getting paid.
Paramjit Gill raised UTG to 35k and the action folded around to Jerome Mangum made an all-in raise. Gill went in the tank for 3 minutes before finally making the call with Ks-Qs and Mangum held the pocket 7's. The flop was good to Gill with the A-Q-8. The turn was a 9 and the 5 river was enough to double Gill up to 170k.
The shortstacked Marcello Degrosso moved all-in for 20k and got the call from Britton Purvis who had pocket 4's versus the A-K of Degrosso. The flop was enough for Degrosso when the A-6-2 popped off. The turn was 2 and the river was a 6.
Our first casualty was sent packing. Larry vance put his last few chips in versus the big blind of Marcello Degrosso and Degrosso called. Vance held A-5 versus the A-K of Degrosso. The flop was 2-3-7, the turn was the J and the river was the 6. Larry Vance was out in 10th place earning $5,430.
Kevin Huynh got crippled on a bluff against David Smira who had the A-10 good for all but 6k of Kevin's stack. The next hand saw Jerome Mangum raise in the cut-off and Kevin was all-in. to add to the matter, Britton Purvis moved in over the top and Mangum called with A-8, Huynh held 6-9, and Purvis held the A-3. The flop saw A-K-3 giving the upper hand to Purvis. the turn was no help to either of the other players when it dropped a 10 and the river sealed the deal with the 2. Britton Purvis doubled up and Kevin Huynh was out in 9th place earning $6,515.
The remaining players made a deal with the remaining prize money and our champion was Jerome Mangum who earned $138,577 and the $10,000 seat to the Legends of Poker Main Event.
