JOSHUA ROSSMAN IS THE WINNER OF 82,714!

The 2007 Foxwoods World Poker Finals $600 No-Limit Hold'em Shoot-out drew almost 500 players. Single table sessions were held at 10 am and 1 pm with the top three players at each table advancing to the 4 pm finals. By the midnight curfew the field of 165 was whittled down to 23 who returned at Noon on Monday. It took three hours to get to a final table and another three for the final table chip leader to round up all the rest. Joshua Rossman of Mt Sinai, NY became the $600 Shoot-out Champion as he took the Championship Trophy, commemorative leather jacket and $82,714!!

Shortly after the final table got under way, Roy Sadovsky was all-in with K7 after a KdJd4d flop. However, Joshua, in the BB, had flopped a flush and Roy, a resident of Floral Park, NY, was the 10th place winner of $3,926. The 9th place finisher was Jason Farber of Cedarhurst, NY, who went all-in with KJ; Alan Goodman called with AK. A QJ3 flop gave Jason hope but an A on the river left Jason in 9th position with $5,067. In three way action, Arthur Evans had pocket Q's, Alan Goodman pocket K's and Fred Atherton AK. An A left Arthur short-stacked and all-in on the next hand. His KJ could not catch up to Fred's AQ and Arthur would return home to Davie, FL, with $6,334 for 8th.

After doubling up twice Ron Wilson was all-in with KQ but Fred flopped a straight and Ron, a resident of Hanover Township, PA, was in 7th good for $7,600. Alfred Matthews was one of three players all-in with a J after a J87 flop. But Fred caught a straight to eliminate Alfred and leave Alan Goodman short-stacked. Alfred had 6th place and $8,866 to take home to Peabody, MA. The 5th place finisher was Ron Compagnone of Dedham, MA. He had pocket 8's but Peter Gilmore had 10's and Ron was the winner of $11,400.

Alan Goodman with pocket 9's lost most of his stack to Peter who had 10's. Alan's A's were not enough to beat Peter who had pocket Q's; two Q's on the board gave quads to Peter and Alan was in 4th place. The Brooklyn, NY, resident took home $15,201. Fred Atherton of Bradford, PA, began the final table as the short stack and with three players remaining he was still the short stack. Fred was able to stay in the game for a while until he was all-in with pocket J's. Peter had AK and a K on the turn left Fred with 3rd place money of $24,066.

The last two players began heads-up action with Joshua clearly in command. He was the chip leader at the start of the final table and did not relinquish his lead. Peter Gilmore, a resident of Plaistow, NH, pushed in his chips with pocket 8's but Joshua caught a flush on the turn and Peter was the winner of $41,801 for 2nd place.

And Joshua Rossman was the Foxwoods World Poker Finals $600 No-Limit Shoot-Out Champion for 2007!!
