Tournament Report
The $3000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship of the 2007 Foxwoods World Poker Finals attracted a total of 202
players competing for a prize pool of $553,482. Arthur Peacock of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, was able to convert his
chip lead at the Final Table into a hard fought victory. Arthur was the winner of the Championship Trophy,
commemorative leather jacket and $190,952!!
There were 17 players who returned on Monday and after two hours of play the Final Table was set. In just over
an hour six players were out. The last four played for an hour and a half before Stephen O'Dwyer pushed all-in for his
last 150K with Q10 suited. Art had pocket K's and with no help on the board Stephen had 4th place money of $33,209 to
take home to Las Vegas, NV. Cliff Josephy of Syosset, NY, had earlier eliminated two players and then lost all but
100K with pocket A's to Art's KQ when KQ came on the board. Cliff also had KQ for his all-in but could not connect
and Steve Gross' pocket 8's left Cliff with 5th place and $24,906. Derek Palmer had built his stack to over 200K and
was all-in with AK; this time Steve Gross had pocket Q's to put Derek into 6th. Derek, a resident of Mayer, MN,
collected $19,372 for his efforts. Derek was responsible for eliminating Richard Murnick of Montclair, NJ. Richard
had A10 and was in the lead over Derek's QJ but with K109 on the board Richard was the 7th place winner of $16,605.
The first to leave the Final Table was William Hill of Clarksburg, MD. William bet his stack on AK but Cliff
had pocket 8's. Cliff caught a set on the turn and William was out in 10th place with $11,070. Shortly thereafter, Austin,
TX, resident Ylon Schwartz was in with pocket 9's. This time Cliff had pocket K's and Ylon had a straight draw before
the river but could not connect and Ylon was the winner of $12,453 for 9th. Washington, DC, resident, Ken Adams was
out in three way action with Richard and Steve Gross who both had Broadway. Ken was left in 8th position good for
$13,837.
With three players remaining, Art Peacock was the chip leader by more than two to one over Chris McCormack
and Steven Gross. Art inexorably added to his stack and eventually Chris McCormack was all-in with pocket 7's.
However, Steve had J's and Chris would return home to Las Vegas, NV, with 3rd place money of $53,965. Steve bought
some time with Chris's chips but soon was all-in with pocket J's. Art called with 5h3h and three hearts on the flop ended
the day for Steven Gross. Steve, a resident of Marlboro, NJ, had 2nd place money of $96,859!
And Art Peacock was the winner of the 2007 Foxwoods World Poker Finals $3000 No-Limit Championship!!!
