Laresa Raney Wins LPA Tournament at Cherokee Casino

TULSA, OK – Laresa Raney, of Broken Arrow, OK, was the champion in the $500+50 No Limit Hold’em contest Sunday, November 11, during the “Ladies Poker Association” (LPA) Pro Tour at the Cherokee Casino. Laresa collected $9,385 for 1st Place in the 59-player field.
“This is a fantastic tournament,” commented Laresa, who placed 6th in the Ladies WPO in January 2007. Her mother, Judy Raney took 4th place in the last LPA held at Cherokee on August 5, 2007. “My mom is my favorite poker celebrity!” Laresa explains. “She is also my greatest influencer.”
Poker Manager Jimmie Sims said, “This was a great tournament. We love to support the ladies by having these events.” Many returning players were Cherokee regulars. “Our local women players are perfect for the LPA. They are definitely serious women playing serious poker!”
The next LPA stop is the Bicycle Casino in California in February 2008 during the LA Poker Classic Ladies Event.
