Elvis Rocks No Limit Final Table

With two events running on Saturday, the No Limit Multi-Rebuy event drew a substantial field of 320 players who paid for 632 rebuys/add-ons. The prize pool was $92,344 and the final 3 tables were in the money. First prize was $34,164 while the 3rd table each received $645. The final table was set at 5:45am with 10 players and 5 minutes remaining in the level of 4000 antes and 10K/20 blinds. The players played through the 5 minutes without an elimination and took a 10 minute break. Upon returning from the break, they briefly discussed a chip count but could not reach a unanimous agreement.

Play started in level 20 and in three hands, Kirk Drickman was all-in with an A-K against Elvis Huynh's pocket Jacks. The board ran 8-6-6-Q-9 and the race ended with Elvis's Jacks in front. Kirk Drickman finished in 10th place and took home $1,155.

On hand #9 Ngon Tran was all-in and called by two short stacked players who he had covered. Kris Nguyen showed Kd-10d and Makram Merhom held 9s-7s. Ngon had the best hand so far with A-10. The board missed everyone with a 5-3-2-2-6 and Ngon dragged a sizable pot and knocked out two opponents. Kasey Nam folded A-Q preflop to the 2 other all-in players before Makram made the all-in call from the big blind. Kasey would have knocked out 3 players if he were in the pot and ended up with an F-bomb penalty for the next seven hands. Makram Merhom finished in 9th for $1,385 and Kris Nguyen was eliminated in 8th place for $1,845.

Play continued seven handed until 7am when Danny Morgan was all-in with a Q-9 against Kasey Nam who held a dominating K-Q. The flop was J-8-6 extending Kasey's lead but the turn 5 and river 7 made Danny an unlikely 9-high straight to send Kasey to the rail in 7th place for $2,310.

The 7am hour convinced the final six players to evaluate a chip count and it was quickly accepted without any additional negotiations. Elvis Huynh was the chip leader by a small margin over Danny Morgan and was declared the winner.
