Tournament Report
Kwinsee Khoa Tran 2008 Big Poker Oktober Champion
Event #19 of Big Poker October was the $500 + $45 championship which drew a sold-out field of 612 players. The prize pool of $296,820 nearly tripled the $100K guarantee and first place paid $83,100. On day 1 the field narrowed to 126 players after 10 levels of play and on day 2 the money bubble burst at 3 hours of play when the 64th player went out before hand-for-hand play began. The field was redrawn and they played until 11pm when the final ten drew for their final table seats.
The players took a break and took notice of the blinds of 40K/80K (ante 10K). They realized there wasn't going to be much 'play' at the final table since half the table had less than one orbit in chips. The requested that the tournament staff calculate a chip count deal while they were still on break.
The final table was reconvened and the numbers were announced. They negotiated for about 5 minutes and it seemed there was not going to be a consensus and they started to high card for the button. In the next 30 seconds, consensus was reached and that concluded the Championship event. Kwinsee Khoa Tran was the chip leader by a small margin and was declared the winner after 16 hours at the poker tables.

BIOGRAPHY
Kwinsee Tran has made multiple final tables at The Bike over the last year. This is his third career win and second at The Bike. Kwinsee, a former mortgage broker, typically plays No Limit cash games but has started playing more tournaments in 2007. Kwinsee has had success in his tournament winnings with www.pokerpages.com showing his 2 year winnings in excess of $100,000. Kwinsee attributes his poker playing skills to the countless hours at the tables where he initially lost money but began to understand the game. Since 2007 he has been a consistent winning player and has avoided one of his bankroll leaks in the Asian games. Kwinsee's looking forward to playing more tournaments and plans to stay focused on his poker playing income.
