Frenchman Alain Roy won the Partouche Poker Tour (PPT) no-limit hold'em Main Event in Cannes France yesterday September 7, besting a field of 480 players to win the Euros 1 Million (about USD $ 1,419,868, or GBP 807,271) first-place prize.
The 4-day event, that featured a huge prize pool worth Euros 3.2 million in just its first year, was held at the prestigious Palm Beach Casino.
The Euro 8,500 buy-in PPT Main Event began September 3rd with two day-one flights. Play continued until a final table of eight were reached on day 3, with Gus Hansen just missing the final table, to finish in ninth place.
