Tournament Report
Amir Ghazvinian Takes Down Bounty Tournament
The 2nd event of Winnin’ o’ the Green was the $360 buy-in Bounty No Limit Hold’em tournament. A field of 173 played for a share of the $50,343 prize pool. Since this was also a bounty tournament the players were also received $25 for each player they knocked out of the tournament. The final table started at level 14 with 500 antes and 2K/4K blinds. Hugo Cerdeiro was chip leader with 175,500 of the 865,000 chips in play.
It did not take long for some action at the final table because on the very first hand Senik Stepanyan was all in with pocket 9’s. Michael Shelton was the short stack and called all in with pocket Jacks. The flop came J-2s-Ts giving Shelton a set of Jacks. The turn came a 7s giving Stepanyan a gutshot straight draw and since he held the 9s a flush draw as well. The river came a Ks giving Stepanyan the flush eliminating Shelton in 10th place for $880
On hand #12 Henry Kaptanjian raised and it folded around to Amir Ghazvinian went all in from the big blind holding pocket 10’s. After some thought Kaptanjian called with AK. The flop came 5-4-10 giving Ghazvinian a set of 10’s and a huge lead in the hand. Kaptanjian needed running straight cards but when the turn came a 4 and paired the board Ghazvinian doubled up with 10’s full of 4’s full house.
The very next hand Andy Phan went all in with Ad-10d and Ghazvinian called from the small blind with K-Q. The flop came K-6d-Qd giving Ghazvinian top two-pair but also gave Phan a straight and flush draw. The turn and river came a 9 and Ghazvinian’s two pair held up knocking out Phan in 9th place for $1,005.
The last pot gave Ghazvinian the chip lead and after a few hands the players discussed a chip count deal. The players were in agreement to take a look at the numbers. After the tournament staff told each player what they would get if they were to stop now, there were no objections to ending play. Amir Ghazvinian was thus declared the winner of event #2.

BIOGRAPHY
Amir Ghazvinian plays both tournaments and cash games including the $500 NL at the Bike. He finished the tournament with 8 bounties although playing in a bounty tournament did not influence him to try to go for any knockouts. He played his usual tournament game in which he describes as situational and based on stack size. He has previous wins at the Bike and plans to play in more events at the WOG including the main event.
