Robert Durant Takes Down Omaha Hi/Lo Event

The 14th event of Winnin' o' the Green was the $335 buy-in Omaha Hi/Lo tournament. A field of 120 vied for a share of the $34,920 prize pool. The final table started at level 14 with 2K-4K blinds playing 4K-8K limits. Robert Durant arrived as the chip leader holding 168,000 of the 600,000 chips in play.

Hand #5 saw our first elimination when Bruce Lee was all in for his last chips holding K-K-9-4. He was up against Tom Argyros' A-J-J-4. The board came Q-A-A-10-Q giving Argyros trip Aces using the A-J in his hand sending Lee out in 9th place for $700.

A round later Donald D'ablaing had his last chips in holding A-J-J-4. He was up against Robert Durant who held 8-7-5-3 and David Wortham who held A-9-6-3. The board came 6-2-4-6-4 giving Durant a 6-high straight for the high hand while Wortham had A-3 for the best low hand splitting D'ablaing's chips sending him out in 8th place for $785.

The very next hand Tom Argyros was all in holding Q-7-6-3. He was up against Lucky Song who held K-K-6-2 and David Wortham who held A-A-10-6. The board came 2-5-7-2-8 giving Song the high hand with a pair of Kings and Wortham the low using his A-6. They split Argyros' remaining chips sending him out in 7th place for $875.

Just a couple hands later Lucky Song was all in with A-10-6-2 against Frankie Odell who held Kd-Kx-8x-5d. Odell hit a huge flop when it came K-Jd-4d giving Odell a set of Kings and a flush draw. The turn came an Ace and the river came a Qd giving Song an Ace-high straight but also giving Odell a King high flush sending Song out in 6th place for $1,220.

On hand #27 Frankie Odell was all in for his remaining chips against Robert Durant who held A-A-6-3 and David Wortham who held K-J-10-5. The board came 3-7-K-K-2 giving Wortham the high using K-J for trip Kings and Durant the low using his A-6. Odell did not show and he was eliminated in 5th place for $1,570.

Play was 4-handed for a few rounds until the 50th hand when Brent Hicks was all in with A-K-7-5 against David Wortham who held A-10-10-3. The board came 3-2-J-2-10 giving Wortham trip 10's and the whole pot sending Hicks out in 4th place for $2,095.

Mashhour Haddadin was all in holding Q-8-4-3 against Robert Durant who held K-8-5-3. The board came J-K-A-10-7 giving Durant a pair of Kings which turned out to be enough to send Haddadin out in 3rd place for $3,315.

No hands were dealt heads up as Robert Durant and David Wortham discussed a deal. The terms were agreed upon as Robert Durant, who held the chip lead with two players remaining, declared winner of event #14.
