Tournament Report
| The 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic WPT Ladies No-Limit Championship was a hotly contested affair with 300
entrants generating a prize pool of $75,660! Susan Ramos of New Bedford, MA would take the 1st place money of $12,112
after the final four reached an agreement to chop the remaining prize pool of 42,132 based on their chip counts. The four
finalists agreed to play it out for the Trophy and the commemorative leather jacket, which was won by Rosa Lee Klaneski of
Farmington, CT. Rosa Lee also collected $11,201 for her 3rd place finish.
Of the 300 players who started on Thursday, 14 returned to battle for a spot on the final table shortly after Noon. In
half an hour, the final table had been determined. It took over an hour before the final table would have it's first departure.
Margaret Feltovic of Shelton, CT would call Rosa Lee's all-in putting Margaret all-in with her last $130k. Rosa Lee had pocket
Q's to Margaret's AdKc. The board (5h8dJs6c3h) left Margaret with the 10th position earning $1,448. A couple of hands later,
Melanie would call Judith Bellina's all-in push of $47k. Bellina would succumb to Melanie's pocket 9's as her AhQc also got
no assistance from the board (6cJc3dJh7c). Bellina would head back to Bay Shore, NY with $1,592 for 9th place. With the
blinds at 5K/10K, Rosa Lee solidified her position at the table when she called Judy Mastrosimone's all-in move after the
flop (QsAh10h) gave her (Qh5h) a flush draw and high pair. Rosa Lee with Jh9h also flopped a flush draw to go with and openender.
The turn (9c) gave Rosa Lee 9's and the river (8c) completed the straight and left Judy in 8th with a $2,346 payday.
Another 45 minutes would pass before Kim Perrella of Saratoga Springs, NY would match-up against then chip leader Wendy
McParland. Wendy came out betting $20k after the turn gave the board KsKh9d7h. Kim would raise to $34k putting herself
all-in with As4h. Much to her disappointment Wendy called with Kd3h and with no outs and a 4s on the river Kim would take
7th for $3,102. Angela Raimondi being down to her last $48k would move all-in with Ac8h and be called by Rosa Lee who
had Ad6d. The flop came-out 6c6h5c, followed by 3h7d giving Rosa Lee trips and Angela would head back to Milton, MA
earning $3,934 for 6th. Jennifer Galagher of Bristol, CT would raise all-in with her last $115k and be called by Susan who
had already raised to $80k with pocket 9's. Jennifer with AhQd received no help from the board (4sJhKh4d6d) and would settle
for 5th and $4,767.
The final four agreed to divide the remaining prize pool based on chip counts and to continue playing for the trophy
and jacket. The chip counts were as follows: Susan Ramos - 500k, Wendy McParland - 465k, Rosa Lee Klaneski -
430k, and Melanie Kaye - 120k. Melanie, of Guilford, CT, was first to leave, pushing her last $242k with AdJd only to be
called by Wendy with AhQc. The board (Kc6d8s9h2d) did nothing for Melanie but confirm her 4th place finish for $7,162.
Susan moved all-in next with KcQc and was quickly called by Wendy with pocket A's, and with no help from the board, Susan
would leave with her 1st place money of $12,112. Rosa Lee would take the last two all-in hands of the night and both with
flushes on the river. Wendy would head back to Lowell, MA with $11,657 for 2nd, while Rosa Lee would scoop the
Championship Trophy and Commemorative Leather Jacket, and $11,201 for 3rd.
