ALLIE PRESCOTT TAKES $67,673 FOR FIRST PLACE!! A total of 391 players entered the $1000 No-Limit Hold'em event in the 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic. With a total prize pool of $345,135 on the line, Allie Prescott battled from the #2 short stack position all the way to victory. The final table took a little over six hours before Allie, a resident of Memphis, TN was able to claim the Championship Trophy, commemorative leather jacket and the First Place prize of $67,673!! Nineteen players returned at Noon on Friday to continue the quest for the Championship; the final table got under way just before 3 pm. With the blinds at 5K/10K, it was not long before the final table short stack, Bob Tallini, of Andover, MA would push in his last 80K. Bob had pocket 4's, and was called by Josh Bergman, the Final Tables starting chip leader, who had Ah10h. The flop (8hAd3c) gave Josh all he needed and with no help the rest of the way (2sQh), Bob would settled for 10th and $4,831. Chris MacNeil was next to leave after he called Ronnie Bardah's all-in raise. Chris turned over pocket 10's and was quickly disappointed when Ronnie showed pocket J's. The J's held-up and Chris was left with only 7k in chips. On the next hand Chris moved all-in with QhJs and was isolated after 2 callers folded to Josh's raise of 70k with Ad5c. The flop (7dAh4h) gave Josh A's, and with the Kh and 5d to follow, Chris would head back to Peabody, MA with $6,928 for 9th. Steve Bilik of Pleasant Prairie, WI raised Ronnie's 135k bet by pushing in his last 194k with AhKc. Ronnie, feeling committed, would call with pocket 10's. The board (8c4c4d4h7s) gave Ronnie the full house and relegated Steve to 8th position collecting $10,354 for his efforts. Mark Sykes of Middletown, CT, had lost a sizable portion of his stack when he ran into pocket A's against Allie. With the now short stack Mark would raise all-in with Qs10h and be called by Allie once again. Allie had AdJc and hit an Ace on the flop (AcKc10c), while Mark picked-up 10's. The turn (6h)was no help to either, but the 5c on the river gave Allie a flush and Mark the 7th spot and a $13,806 payday. Ronnie Bardah found himself committed once again after raising to 160k and then being raised all-in by David Zeitlin with AsKh. Ronnie called with pocket 9's and was disappointed from the flop as Kd3c4c gave Dave K's. Ron picked up more outs as the turn (10c) gave him a flush draw, but the 8s on the river would be the end for 'RoNasty', leaving him heading back to Brockton, MA with$17,256 for 6th. Mike Laiosa of Medford, MA would move all-in with Kd10d and was quickly called by Don Yucius with AsKs. The board Qh9h4sKcQd gave Don 2 pair with an Ace and left Mike settling for 5th and $15,531. The final four battled for almost an hour before Josh Bergman would raise all-in with his last 165k with pocket 5's and would be saddened to see Allie make the call with pocket K's. The board (Jc3d9s6hKh) gave Allie a set and Josh the exit with a 4th place finish for $24,159. The final three reached an equity chop agreement, leaving more to play for 1st and 2nd. They battled for almost two hours before David Zeitlin of Brooklyn, NY would move all-in with As3c. He was called by Don with pocket 6's, and with no help from the board David would settle for $40,757 and 3rd place. The last hand had Allie enjoying a sizable chip advantage. Don had committed over 500k to the turn which gave the board Ah2d10hQc. Don pushed his last 195k with Ad8s and was called by Allie with AsKh. With the 10c on the river, Don Yucius of Duxbury, MA would take 2nd and $55,337. Allie Prescott was the 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic $1000 No-Limit Champion!!
