Tournament Report
ATS 1,741.920 winnings in a poker game!
One of the most important poker tournaments in the world ended with champion
Manfred Willi from Vienna pocketing the impressive sum of ATS 1,741,920 (EUR126,590). And tax-free into the bargain! The event was staged in Casino Baden, 25 km south of Vienna, for the twelfth time, where a total of 385
contestants from 30 countries lined up at the starting gate. Apart from the honour of winning, they were naturally playing for the money as well. All told, there was ATS 8,709,600 (EUR632,951.32) in the pot. In an exciting
final, Willi ultimately managed to prevail over his strongest competitors. Casino manager Stefan Hartl and tournament director Georg Zadro presented the cup to the new champion. In second place came Peter Hajszan, followed by Manuela Seliger, who is the first woman ever to have reached the grand final.
