Tournament Report

The final event was taken out by Chinese player Lin,a regular in local cash games, & one of dozens of Chinese poker players residing in Moscow. As expected most of the final 7 players were Russian, except for Lin & yours truly who have both been here long enough to qualify as honorary Russians. Kostya Tzu,the Russian born Australian boxer who won his world unification title bout yesterday, is of course considered here to be totally Russian.

The best overall player was Australian Mel Judah who had to wait anxiously when there were 4 players remaining in the final event to see whether Akov Dardanyan could finish 1st or 2nd to snatch the title. The wait got the better of Mel who made a deal with Akov the hand before he was eliminated in 4th position. C'est la vie.
