Tournament Report
| I’m playing poker in the morning...bet, raise the chips are gonna fall, I’m playin’ poker, $500 Limit Hold’em...... so get me to the game on time. No tuxedo, garter or bouquet, just the buy-in, skill and patience. Eddie Fishman (left) had a strong feeling that he’d win today’s Limit Hold’em tournament, so when he and his brother Michael and friend Flip flew to the Bahamas, they had their Chinese food and flew right back. Just 4 short years ago, Eddie was playing $2-4 omaha, and has progressively built a strong relationship with the game. Today is his 1st major tournament win, Limit Hold’em USPC. This was a big step Eddie. Eddie, do you love poker....(a little organ music)....I do!
Only his 2nd tournament, this golf pro from Virginia scored a 2nd place finish in Limit Hold’em. Bob Fikac was weaned from stud about a year and a half ago and coached in hold’em by his friends, who were present to support him today at the USPC. Atta boy, Bob......... way to grow!
His 3rd event in the money, Jim Bucci locked up 3rd place in today’s Limit Hold’em Event. Complimented by others for being a strong player, Jim humbly accepts his honor and says this only pales to the honor bestowed upon his wife, MaryLu, who will be carrying the torch for the Olympics, in Virginia.... That’s beautiful!
Like young women who long to compete for the title of Miss America, being judged on poise, talent, current events, etc., many tournament poker players strive for the distinguished honor of best ‘all around’ player. Considering factors such as #entries, $buy-in, placement, etc., players receive a point score. As of the Dec.7th issue of Card Player, John Juanda was point leader. Due to Men the ‘Master’s’ USPC wins, he has surpassed the point leader and is in prominent position.
Thank you.
