Tournament Report
| Don’t be cruel to a hand that’s true' and true it was.....to a tune of 4 aces for Cyril Jassinowsky, who gave a legendary performance as he won today’s No-Limit Hold’em Event. This Elvis fan jet sets 6 months in the states and 6 months in South Africa and is recognizable on the internet as ‘Pie sang’. Cyril has a background in free-lance journalism and has now settled into a professional life of poker. This year Cyril attended the World Series and has previously visited Graceland. Cy and his opponent Peter started the final table just $50 apart. ‘It’s now or never’ to get a handle on this event, so the poker ‘devil in disguise’ tempted and lured the others, until he gained all the chips. Oh Cy, ' the wonder of you '
Move over Emeril, we have Peter Giordano live!! and there’s consistency in his sauce.... 2nd last year and 2nd this year in the USPC $500 No-Limit Hold’em. A little carrots, pork and pepperoni simmered together with fresh tomatoes make a zesty, mouth-watering delight, just like the 3 super satellites he won at the World Series.
Besides his pleasure of cooking, Peter is a computer salesman with 2 children and a very supportive wife, who loves to go shopping...so, give her some spendin’ dough and ‘kick it up a notch’.
Following the tournament circuit, Jon Hoellein finished his best ever, today, at the USPC No-Limit Hold’em, taking 3rd . Jon was a short distance runner in college and today volunteers as a coach at that same school in Ohio. As the baton is passed on to the next leg of your tournament relay, may you gain the momentum you are striving for and never lose that competitive spirit.
In anticipation of tomorrow’s Championship Event, we’d like to wish everyone the best. I leave you with my annual poem..
‘Tis the night before hold’em
And what do we see,
But a room full of players
All longing to be...
The No-Limit Champion
To be crowned in 3 days,
How will it happen
Bluff, check, bet, raise...
The goal is a great one
The field strong and vast,
The best in the world
Have gathered at last...
Here at the ‘Taj’
To play their best game,
To make that final table
For money and fame...
The tournament is closing
We’re all anxious to see,
Who the next USPC No-
Limit Hold’em Champion will be!’
