Report:

Day 1 Pot Limit Hold-em

Tonight’s event is the 1st in 10 days of tournamemnts. The buy-in for this event is USD200 and no re-buys. The game is pot limit Hold-em. We got underway at 9pm local Moscow time and by 9:30 we had lost our 1st 10 players. The atmosphere here is very exciting with a range of languages that needs to be heard to be believed.. This room would be an "interpreters dream". 1st player to lose all his chips was none other than Steve Hegyi from Sydney Australia. However as there were still 2 unpaid chip stacks he was permitted to re-enter the tournament.

We won’t bother with too much detail but just thought you might be interested to know the order of the 1st unlucky 10 players to be eliminated. Here are the countries as they are eliminated. ( To save them a little embarrassment I have not given you their names).

  • 1st out Russia
  • 2nd out Lebanon
  • 3rd out U.S.
  • 4th out U.K.
  • 5th out N.Z. Constantine Harrach
  • 6th out Italy
  • 7th out Germany
  • 8th out Austrlaia Phil “Noodles” Cannon.
  • 9th U.S.A
  • 10th Russia

The chip leader until 1 minute ago was Dave Parlor from Australia, but he just copped a very bad beat and is now low stacked and will need a little luck to build up from here.

Steve Hegyi just eliminated and also the Melbourne Manila specialist player Anthony Q.

Mike Comer is current chip leader. He doubled up when his pocket rockets held up against Dimitri P. from Sydney Australia.

We have been playing now for 1 hour and down to 30 players. The top 3 chip stacks belong to :->

1. Mike Comer Australia $3,600
2. .Michael Cliener Germany $3,500
3. David Plastik U.S.A. $3,400

David Parlor now feeling a little dejected after losing a large portion of the chips he had accumulated.

10:30 the 1st break was taken and we are down to 26 players. The last player to go out just before the break was Aleksander Mozir from HIT Hotel Caino in Sloverija.
Aleksander was very unlucky when his pocket Aces up were up against pocket 7’s. With a 7 coming on the flop and no Aces Alex retired to the live action. ( Alex is one of the great promoters of Poker in Europe).

Time now is 11:15pm and we have been going just over 2 hours. With a starting field of 44 players we are down to 20 and the final 2 tables. .
The blinds are at $100/$200

Danny McDonagh was the next to go in 15th place. Pocket 8's against Ace/Queen. A Queen on the flop.

The very next hand saw Arseny Mesheryakov from Russia take his A3 up against Gary Bush holdihg KQ off suit with no pre flop raise.
