Tournament Report

After four months of heated tournaments and hundreds of players vying for a coveted seat in the World Series of Poker, a victor was named in Pechanga Resort & Casino’s final “Big Showdown” tournament. Beginner’s luck hit Jeremy Vera of San Bernardino, CA. Jeremy played in his first poker tournament ever in that Sunday’s 10a.m. Hold’em tournament. He said he felt lucky so he stuck around and played in the 4p.m. Big Showdown. Beating out hundreds of other players in the several hour tournament, Jeremy came out on top winning a $10,000 to the WSOP, plus $3,340 in cash prizes from the tournament. Wearing his dark poker playing glasses as he posed for his photo with the big casino check, Jeremy looked cool as could be, like he knew his first place title was in the cards. We’ll see how lucky he really is in the WSOP Championship event. He and three other “Big Showdown” winners from Pechanga Resort & Casino will play in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas on May 22nd.
